COFFEE BASICS
Arabica vs. Robusta Beans.
According to an article by the National Coffee Association, Inc., a non-profit organization that serves the public, the coffee industry and its association members, it is wise to purchase coffee in amounts proportionate to how quickly you will use it. Coffee begins to lose its freshness almost immediately after roasting so it is far better to purchase it in smaller quantities. Purchase freshly roasted coffee frequently and buy only what you will use in the next 1 or 2 weeks.
Storage is integral to maintaining your coffee's freshness and flavor. To preserve its freshness, it is important to keep it away from excessive air, moisture, and heat. Please do not refrigerate or freeze your daily supply of coffee. Contact with moisture will cause the aroma, taste and quality to deteriorate. We suggest storing your fresh Sarah’s Coffee in an airtight glass or ceramic container or for sake of convenience, just keep it in its very own air tight and re-sealable foil pouch you receive it in.
Sarah's Coffee.Com is dedicated to delivering the freshest and finest coffee to our customers. After the beans have been roasted, Sarah’s Coffee is packaged and shipped as soon as possible. Coffee is really a fresh fruit and is best served within days of roasting, not months like most grocery stores or retail chains.
Remember, whole bean coffee will remain fresh for a longer period of time than ground coffee. Sarah’s Coffee recommends buying 100% Arabica, whole bean coffee, in small quantities and grind only what you will use prior to each pot. At Sarah’s Coffee we offer our fresh roast to order coffees in our 12 ounce re-sealable foil pouch, our 2 pound re-sealable foil pouch, and our 5 pound gold re-sealable foil bag as well for those of you that may be purchasing to serve at work, bed and breakfast, or your own restaurant.
